Career Technical Education and Early College Credit
Did you know that you can take NON AP classes in high school that are either articulated or dual enrolled in college?
Articulated Credit: For these classes students must earn a B or better in the course and pass a college level exam and or submit a portfolio of work for college review. If the student earns B or better on that exam/portfolio then they earn college credit.
Dual Enrolled Credit: For these courses you are enrolled in a course taught by a college faculty or a high school faculty that is eligible to teach at the college level. Your grade in that course is both your high school grade as well as your college grade for that course. If you pass the course you earn college credit.
CTE Pathways: In order to be designated as a CTE pathway completer, the student must take a minimum of two sequential courses that are designated as a concentrator (first class), and a capstone (last class). Some pathways have introduction courses and enrichment opportunities as well.
Dual Enrolled Credit: For these courses you are enrolled in a course taught by a college faculty or a high school faculty that is eligible to teach at the college level. Your grade in that course is both your high school grade as well as your college grade for that course. If you pass the course you earn college credit.
